16 PHS students earn College Board National Recognition Program honors

A group of Portage High School seniors are in the spotlight after earning honors in the College Board National Recognition Program.

To be eligible for the honors, students need to apply as sophomores or juniors and meet the following criteria:

  • Score in the top 10% of test takers on the PSAT;
  • Earn a 3 or higher on at least 2 AP exams;
  • Earn a cumulative GPA or B+ (3.3) or higher; and
  • Identify as first-generation, Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino, Indigenous/Native, and/or attend school in a rural area or small town.
