The Portage High School Pride of Portage Marching Band has qualified for the Indiana State School Music Association’s State competition.
The group qualified after receiving a gold rating at the prelim competition on September 30. They will perform their show, “The Composition of Color,” on October 14 at Franklin Central High School for State. The band is competing in the ISSMA Scholastic class.
Students, staff, families, and community members are invited to join the Marching Band’s send-off as they leave for State. The band will depart Portage High School on the east side of the building at 8:15 a.m. on October 14.
Businesses in the community are welcome to post a note of encouragement on their marquees in the days leading up to State.
