PHS students qualify for BPA Nationals

Portage High School sophomore Anna Zurek and senior Kyle Mann have qualified to compete at the Business Professionals of America National Competition in Anaheim, California, this April.

Both students qualified for Nationals following a successful trip the Indiana BPA State competition recently with three students placing in the top 10 in four events. Zurek punched her ticket to Nationals by taking first place in Business Law & Ethics, and Mann placed 5th in PC Configuration. Mann also took 9th place in Cisco Programming, and junior Sean Bogseth placed 5th in Economic Research.

Zurek's first-place finish marks the fourth Indiana State Champion from PHS in as many years. This will also be the fourth year in a row that PHS students have qualified for BPA Nationals.

We wish both Anna and Kyle the best of luck at Nationals!
