A Message from the Superintendent

children at school
At Portage Township Schools, our focus is on creating an educational environment where every student excels.

A rigorous curriculum combined with community partnerships and nationally-recognized programs form the framework for our students to realize their dreams. Programming such as high ability and special education meet the unique needs our students. Students learn how to solve problems and think creatively through the technological innovations incorporated into their classrooms and throughout our schools. Our district is 1:1 in grades 6-12 iPads with devices available in elementary classrooms. Innovative learning labs at each school promote STEM learning and further prepare our students to meet the challenges of a 21st century workforce. We also recognize the importance of meeting every child's most basic needs so that they come to school mentally and physically ready to learn in a safe and secure environment. Our food service department, health services department, and school advisers utilize special programs and community partnership to ensure that our students have the tools they need to be successful.

Our students are the future of our Portage Township community, and we take to heart our mission to educate, empower and inspire excellence.
